International Students Fees and Refund Policy
Student visa and insurance required
All fees below are in New Zealand dollars (NZD)
LONG TERM STUDENTS
12 months (4 terms)
Tuition fee: $13,000 (incl GST and the Government Levy for International Students)
Administration fee: $500.00 (non-refundable)
1 – 3 terms
Tuition fee: $3,500 per term (incl GST and the Government Levy for International Students)
Administration fee: $350.00 (non refundable)
SHORT TERM STUDENTS
Weekly tuition fee: $400.00 per week (incl GST and the Government Levy for International
Administration fee: $200.00 (non refundable)
Please deposit all fees into the New Zealand Westpac Bank Waitākiri Primary School bank account number 03 1700 0622075 25. Please put the child’s name and invoice number as reference.
International students must have appropriate and current medical and travel insurance (Policy to be in English) to meet Code of Practice and Immigration requirements while in New Zealand. School arranged insurance is with Uni-Care, an A+insurer financial strength rated company.
These costs are a guideline only and subject to change without notice. Tuition fees are subject to changes in Government Legislation relating to finance or GST.
The tuition fee includes all costs in New Zealand, but does not include:
Stationery, work books, writing materials and electronic devices
Specialised music tuition and associated costs
Costs associated with any extra-curricular activities, such as sport, camps, trips and after school activities
Entry into academic competitions
Any specialist teaching required other than English as an Additional Language
NZ school dental and health services
Dependant on availability and by special arrangement only. Students must be 10 or 11 years old.
We do not arrange accommodation for parents, however we can assist you.
Short and long term (if available)
$300.00 per student per week
All enrolments must comply with The New Zealand Education (Pastoral Care of International Students) Code of Practice 2016 – Schools, and New Zealand Immigration Regulations.
REFUND POLICY CONDITIONS
If a student has paid fees but is unable to take up the offer of place before commencing studies, a full refund, less the administration fee, will be made.
Once a student has begun study, fees for at least one term will not be refunded.
If a student is forced by family or health reasons to leave during the year, fees which have been paid for terms beyond that in which they leave will be refunded, minus Government charges and administration expenses. Proof of these exceptional reasons will be required in writing.
Fees will not be refunded if a student changes schools through the year.
The Ministry of Education levies and taxes cannot be refunded.
No refund will be made to a student who is excluded from the school by the Board of Trustees.
If a parent changes their immigration status so that their child is no longer eligible for a student visa during a school year, no refund of the tuition fee will be made.
If Waitākiri Primary School ceases to be a Signatory to the Code of International Students, a full refund will be given.
If Waitākiri Primary School ceases to be a provider of International Students, a full refund will be given.
If Waitākiri Primary School closes for any reason (except Acts of God) a full refund will be given.
The Board of Trustees of Waitākiri Primary School guarantees to repay all outstanding fees to International students in the unlikely event of the school being unable to continue functioning.
