The New Zealand Government has a legislation to ensure the safety and highest possible care of International Students and their families is undertaken during their time in New Zealand.
Waitākiri Primary School is a Signatory to the Code 2016 and complies with all government legislation.

Immigration and Visas
An International Student may enrol for up to 3 months on a visitor visa and must hold a student visa for longer study. New Zealand Immigration
has helpful information about applying for visitor and student visas. Visas must be obtained prior to the student studying and can be obtained once an Offer of Place is received.
All International Students must have insurance prior to the student studying. Insurance must include unlimited medical care including repatriation and expatriation.
There are a range of medical organisations where insurance can be obtained online.
