The PTA (Parent Teacher Association) is a committee of dedicated and enthusiastic parents and teachers, who volunteer their time to support the children of Waitākiri Primary School.
Along with you, the parents, and strong community support, the PTA work to fundraise throughout the year to provide resources and equipment for your children to assist them to learn, play and grow in their school environment.
There are many jobs behind the scenes in which the members of the PTA volunteer their time, including book fairs, organising sport and Kapa Haka uniforms, sausage sizzles, read-a-thons, Entertainment Books, math-a-thons, school discos, raffles, market nights, calendars and many more.
We warmly welcome new parents onto the Committee, and to come and enjoy the fun we experience while supporting our children, the school and the wider community. It is a very rewarding experience being part of the PTA, and it is also a great opportunity to get to know other parents from the school.
If you would like to assist with one-off events but are not able to commit to regular meetings, you are welcome to join our “Friends of the PTA” list – if this sounds like an option for you, please email email@example.com.
“Many hands make light work”, and we are always grateful for any time you can spare.
Our current PTA Chair is Carole-Ann Ward.
